Future Hoarder or Pick Pocket?

So, it’s after dinner and time for Enzo’s bath last night when I hear Josh cracking up.  I was filling the tub with water and he was in Enzo’s room getting him undressed. I go in there and he’s still laughing and Enzo’s rolling around on his changing table having a grand ole time, so I asked him what the heck was so funny. It took him a minute, but he finally handed me a magnet off our fridge.

Huh?  Where did that come from?

Apparently before dinner Enzo – while playing with magnets on the fridge – decided to stick one down the back of his diaper.  So, when Josh was undressing him he noticed something odd in the back of Enzo’s diaper and pulled out our Green Giant magnet.  He’d probably had it in there for a good solid hour.

Maybe we should get the kid a backpack or something. I’m just glad there wasn’t poop – this time.

Bazinga!

What a week it’s been.  I would have had an update sooner, but have felt like crap for the past week, and have been spending most of my time in bed.  The antibiotics are helping with the sinus infection, but at this rate, I’m just waiting for the rest of whatever I’ve got to take it’s leave.

Aww

Anyhoo. As for the house – we’ve technically sold it.  However, we are waiting for an appraisal, which has been very slow in coming and has had us rather nervous because we can’t really do anything until we know what the appraisal is.  Our Realtor at this point is concerned about it, so that has us worried as well. There have been a lot of really low sales in our area that are going to affect it, and each appraiser is different. We’ve heard instances where two appraisers have come up with amounts for the same house that differ 10K-20K, so… we wait.  Quite honestly at this point with the way the housing market is going (houses being snatched up left and right and fewer houses coming on the market due to nervous sellers) we would be okay if the appraisal came back too low and we just stayed. It’s not ideal, but in realty, we could adjust our budget and save a lot more money so that in a year we wouldn’t be so dependent on selling this place first and could jump on the perfect house right away rather than all of this waiting and seeing and watching houses disappear from the market. Plus, it would be the perfect excuse to put in that wet bar and do a few things to increase the value a tad.

Aside from all that, Enzo seems to have grown up overnight. He just looks and seems so much older while I’ve been sick.  The cutie would use his walker to come see me in the bedroom and it felt so nice to be missed by him. His daddy did a great job of taking over everything so I can rest, and I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to do so.  I’m also glad that Enzo had such a good weekend – he was in such a good mood and had a great appetite.  We also discovered he really likes Naked juices. I was drinking one and he was reaching for it, so I gave him a sip and he got a huge smile on his face and grabbed for the bottle again. Then when I sat down to play with ball him again, he got super excited, which I thought was because I had his new bouncy ball, but no, it was because he saw my bottle of juice when I sat down. Ha ha.

I’m looking forward to being my old self again.

And then the weekend was over…

The past week was a blur, what with more doctor’s visits and Enzo staying home with his daddy a couple of days.  Nothing serious, just a little pink eye and some tummy issues.

You know the day is going well when you get texts like this:

“The little stinker got to try cat food this morning. He was not impressed.”

Naturally he’s been a little cranky, so we didn’t do a whole lot this weekend, but did have to vacate the house for a showing on Saturday.  I’ll be glad when we sell, if only so we don’t have to worry about showing the house anymore and needing to pack up the kiddo when he isn’t necessarily feeling like it. Things are looking good with the house, though. We’ve had some good showings with decent feedback, so we’re staying positive. It’s always stressful, though, knowing that once we sell we’re going to have to find something for ourselves as quickly as possible and nothing is staying on the market long right now.

So, we wait and see and who knows… maybe we’ll have good news soon.  In the meantime, it looks like Enzo will be turning 1 in the first home we bought, which is kind of neat in a silly sentimental kind of way.  He won’t remember this place at all, but this house has seen a lot of firsts.

Game Time

First I have to just say… we don’t always spend all of our time in our pajamas like the pictures tend to show. Okay, that’s a lie.  We spend a lot of time in our pajamas and comfy clothes when at home. Meh.

Pajamas are just way more comfy, and when you’re chasing this guy around, you need to have room to move. :p

He actually just discovered curtains the other day. Considering his love of peek-a-boo, I’m surprised he didn’t find them sooner.

Curtains!

And here I am about the same age it looks like, enjoying the same game. :p

Peek-a-boo is also great when played around the kitchen island because you never know from which side a waiting parent will pounce on an unwitting child.

Let it also not be said that the Shoberg’s are wasteful.  Even Cuties that are going bad have a great second use!

And that’s all I’ve got.  You’re jealous of our exciting lives, aren’t you?

Spring Forward

So, not only do we spring forward in terms of time, but we’re springing forward into action in regards to our next adventure.  (How’s that for cheesy?)

Charge!

This past weekend was especially busy because we had to clean the house and de-clutter, which meant renting a storage unit so we could clear up some room.  Why?  Our house is officially on the market… again. We decided to go with a realtor this time to avoid some extra stress.  We are keeping our options open and will be looking in both Minnesota and Colorado for our next home.  It’s always hard to leave stability behind, so we’ll see if we’re ready to take that leap or not.

In other events, Enzo ended up with pink eye, and when we took him in this weekend discovered he also has strep throat and an ear infection.  He’s also cutting 2 teeth – possibly 4 from the looks of things.

Also… daylight savings kind of sucks.  It thankfully hasn’t messed with Enzo’s schedule too much, but I’m having trouble getting enough sleep, and it doesn’t help that when the wee man is sick he doesn’t sleep as well.  I had to grab him last night and tried to shush him to sleep, but he was having way too much fun climbing on mom and dad to settle down right away. :p

Oh yeah… and I’m done with winter.  Thankfully the husband takes care of all the physical labor, though. 😉
