Walking in a winter wonderland…

I meant to get these pictures up from Enzo’s first snow experience, but have been under the weather this week with a cold/sinus infection.  Thanks to antibiotics should be feeling like my old self again soon. Anyhoo…

Since our first real storm of the year dropped about a foot of snow, we thought it was the perfect time for Enzo to experience it, so we bundled him up (to his dismay) and went outside.

In hindsight, waiting for it to be less windy might have been a good idea since we had snow blowing in our faces and couldn’t really enjoy it.

Enzo definitely seemed intrigued, though.  He was kind of in awe and just looked around a lot squinting his eyes from how bright it was and because his parents are morons and dragged him out into the wind.

He puts up with us so well, and I’m glad he got to wear his first snow suit at least once before he outgrows it.

See?  Almost enjoying it as he tries to mimic his dad!  He did actually smile a few times while we were outside, though, we couldn’t catch those on camera…. probably because whenever we tried he’d get a gust of snow/wind in his face.  Oh well, maybe next time he’ll get to enjoy it more.

Toofs!

We interrupt this broadcast to bring you… teeth!  We managed to grab a quick picture, but it seems like they’ve popped up even more.  It’s funny to watch the kiddo play with them with his tongue.  I imagine it must be annoying since I can’t actually remember cutting teeth.  I’ll miss that gummy grin, but this smile is just as cute.

Pure and utter joy…

Life is full of such discovery when you have a tiny one around. Such small things become objects of extreme curiosity like a magnet or a piece of shiny paper, and other things become the greatest toys ever like a plastic egg that was a cat toy.  However, there is also much amusement to be found when one gives a semi amusing toy a new purpose.

Enzo’s new favorite game:

Step 1: Place stacking ring on baby’s head.

Step 2: Watch baby’s face freeze in confusion and surprise and then try and figure out what’s on his head.

RingGame2

Step 3: Watch baby find great amusement in the sensation of ring sliding off his head.

Step 4:  Continue to watch his eyes light up and beg you for more!

Step 5: Repeat!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

I’m hoping this month will not bring anymore illness with it.  Our last week was a bit off after Enzo ended up catching a cold and then Pink Eye.  At first we thought it might just have been his cold, but nope.  Good thing I still had two days of vacation time saved up, which also means… no more sickness allowed. :p

Pinkeye

My fingers are crossed for a healthy month… especially since Josh has hernia surgery scheduled on the 27th and will then be resting for a week. Thankfully we invested in an actual laptop so I can work from home/the hospital during Josh’s procedure… it’s the little things.

Boys and their balls…

We had a nice long weekend, ate lots of food with family, did a little shopping, watched the first snow fall, and discovered Enzo’s latest obsession.

Who knew a large bumpy ball could incite such giddiness?

There are only a few things that get the little man laughing to such an extent, and apparently balls are one of them.  Thankfully, I managed to find one for him while we were at Target. He was getting fussy in the cart, so I gave him my phone – hey, he asked for it – and then I remembered I wanted to look for a ball anyway.  Turns out it was a great idea – he was thrilled and happy to stay in the cart.

It is definitely his new favorite toy, along with an overly large bear who he has also become quite fond of and gives kisses to.  Love this kid.
